Does a bun still shed fur if a patch of fur is removed due to surgery?

So my bun has a batch of fur, about 3 x $1 coin, removed due to a minor surgery. What happened was, he had a bare skin that didn't re-grow its fur, and there is a 1 cm injury from that bare skin.

To fix the injury, the vet has to shave a bit more fur off, and stitch that wound. So now there is an approx. 3 x $1 coin size bare skin with some fur slowly grow back.

But it's fur shedding season, so how does the body of my rabbit work? would he sense he has a patch of bare skin and won't shed any fur? Or would he just shed fur as usual? Or would he shed these fur a month later?

The hair has just been cut very short by shaving it - hair roots are not affected, so the pattern of growth and shedding should be pretty much as normal. Areas of scar tissue may have lost the hair follicles (roots) and remain bald as a result. The shaved areas will regrow to the normal length in a few weeks.

Hair growth is a bit like the grass in your lawn - it has seasonal growth and dormancy patterns depending on the weather. You can cut it short and keep it neat, but it will grow and seed if left to its own devices. It has a dormancy period with no active growth in winter and increased growth in Spring / Summer when conditions support its growth. But if you dig out the roots, you have no grass.

Hair / fur growth works in a similar way (but usually thicker in Winter and thinner in Summer). Routine operation scars are rarely visible on rabbits as they have very fine, dense fur which effectively covers the operation site over.

The vet, who's a rabbit specialist, can never explained was caused the fur not to grow back around Apr. to May. He did mention that my bun's age is 10. If that patch of fur did grow back in Apr. to May, none of this would have happened

But since that last patch didn't grow back, I'm worried that the same patch won't grow back neither
