Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Peace lily drama

Hi everyone,
I have a lot of plants and my female bunny who's just recovering from an operation just nibbled a peace lily leaf. It was behind her cage when I was changing it and she just went for it - she hasn't actually ingested any of the plant just tore the leaf - should I take her to the vets? I read online they are poisonous if ingested but she technically hasn't ingested any :( here's a picture of the leaf the torn bit matches up exactly with the rest of the leaf - none is missing.

Any advice would be appreciated x

I expect she'll be fine, it does not look like she did more than tear the leaf. But I'd give the Vet a quick call anyway xx

Hi there

It doesn't look like she ate any of it.

I really wouldn't worry at all :D

How's her wound looking?xx

Hey :) yea I'm was just like ohhh no not another thing haha

Her wounds are looking better each day :) vet bed had been a big success too she sometimes decides to ruck it up but mainly it stays flat. Bought 5 and cut them to size but they've really worked well and as she'll need to be on them for next 3 weeks at least so glad I've got something that works :) so thank you so much for the suggestion xx
