Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Baytril 10%

Young Bun
Does anyone know the dosage for rabbits regarding Baytril 10%?
I know normally the most common is 2.5%...

Well, according to Medirabbit, oral baytril dosages are 5-15mg/kg, so that divided by 4 is 1.25 - 3.75mg/kg. (10% solution being 4 x stronger then the 2.5%). 2.5% being 25mg/ml, 10% being 100mg/ml.
Does that help?:? Or are you looking for ml dose?10%

For 2.5% oral solution, 5mg is 0.2mls. So 5-15 mg is 0.2-0.6mls
For 10% Im figuring that is 0.05 - 0.15mls. But I always feel less then confident with these things!

ETA: With the stronger solution, you might want to draw up the dose, then dilute it further with water.

Is it for injection? The 10% version is four times as strong as the 2.5% version - has the bun it's for seen the vet and had it confirmed that this is ok to use or are you just double checking something? The 10% version is potentially more likely to cause baytril burn on injection because it is that much more concentrated. Hope everybun is ok.

Oops! Edited my above posts to specify dosages for oral solution. I assumed.... and you know what they say about assuming..
