Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vaccination two month early

Gosh it's been ages since I was on here. Life has been super stressful and any free time I had I spend with my two little stinkers :)
Just a quick question. Does anyone know if the annual vaccinations could be brought forward by two months. My date for the two is end of August but I will be super busy from mid next month till September so just wondering if it would be ok to have them vaccinated earlier rather than wait till end of September or so which would mean they would be like a whole month without it.

Yup, it's fine to vaccinate a little early - my vet said it doesn't really do them any harm.

In areas of high risk, vaccinations are sometimes recommended at 6 month intervals.
Check that your vet has both vaccines in stock - mine is still struggling to get the myxo one.

The vaccines are tested to 13 months efficacy, so you should be OK either way :)

Thanks all. Gonna phone vet tomorrow and see what they suggest either way. Just wanted to check here first before calling and as always I am now armed with more info :)
