Hi folks!
My name is Lisa. I'm a married mum of three with a passion for anything that has four legs and is covered in fur! lol
I currently own three cats, ten rats, two guinea pigs and two baby rabbits.
I decided to join RU because I'd like to chat to like minded people and have somewhere I can turn to for advice when I need it. I've always kept bunnies but usually on their own or with a guinea pig ~ it was the done thing when I was younger. Nowadays I see it is highly recommended to have bunnies kept in pairs at the very least.
Anyway after the loss of our last bunny, I was so heartbroken that I said I wouldn't have anymore ~ famous last words! sound familiar to anyone?
He'd been a house rabbit for the last six months of his life and we had got to know him in a very different way ~
I still miss him sitting there next to the cats waiting for his breakfast.
My little boy was heartbroken too and after realising that Pepe was not coming back, he began working on me to buy another rabbit! Everyday for the past four months he has begged me to buy a bunny and eventually I gave in and bought two 6week old lionhead lops from a breeder nearby.
So... after trawling the web for extra info, I discovered RabbitRehome. What a wonderful site it is too and a wealth of info!
I am just very saddened to see so many rabbits dumped because their owners no longer can be bothered to care for them ~ I had no idea
You bunny lovers are doing a great job providing temporary and long term homes for them!
Well this looks like a nice forum... I hope I will enjoy my stay
