I've noticed my rabbit is a little bit more subdued than normal. He normally follows me about like a puppy trying to get food off me but I noticed last night before bed and today he seems to be just sitting more and just doesn't seem as bright as usual.
He ate his supper and breakfast and even followed me downstairs to the kitchen this morning- he had pellets, kale and blueberries and then back up the stairs. It is hard to explain but he just doesn't seem right. Oh and his poops are normal- no small poops and no squidgy ones either. Maybe a bit darker than I'd like, but that is it.
I took him to the vet this morning and his tummy is not bloated or hard but there were no gurgling sounds. Usually he puts up a good fight at the vets, even the last time when he had stasis and his tummy was sore and hard. But this time he pretty much just sat and squirmed a little. He got a shot of metacam and a drug to keep his tummy moving. I hope this was the right thing to do- he did seem to grind his teeth before the vets and his tummy did not sound active.
I took him home and he hopped out and went under the bed in the spare room. I left him alone for a bit and then came back and fed him some coriander, all of which he ate. When I next popped my head round he was on top of the bed sleeping which I think is a good sign. But yet he still seems very quiet and not as active.
Am i being OTT here or does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
He was out in the garden for about 40mins yday and he ate A LOT of plants, mostly grass, dandelions and a bit of rosemary. I did chase him around the garden to get a bit of clematis out of his mouth at one point!! But at most it would of been a couple of bites. He also was very fond of some other plant I don't think he can eat and I was constantly chasing him off but again I don't think he ate enough to upset him.......then I was wondering if he could of sprained something when he was binkying about the garden?
He isn't drinking excessively but I am also worried something he ate has affected his liver or kidneys.....PLEASE HELP!
