  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Came home from work and there's a very very soft/partly liquid yet substance all over the room. Big pile of it and lots of other piles dotted around, it's all over her bum, all over her nose, and I'm so so frightened it's to do with clindamycin poisoning.
I can't get to my specialist in rush hour quickly it would take up to 90 minutes and I've panicked and took her to our usual vets.
Help I've no idea what to do or what to make sure they do!!

I've just PM'd you. Your vet should be able to help x

Sending huge amounts of vibes for Millie. A couple of months after getting my girls Frankie had horrendous diarrhoea, it was extremely alarming seeing the amount of it, we never did find the cause but she got through it. I hope it is the same for Millie xxx

Thank you everyone. I've just got back from Chine House, Millie has been admitted for a few days. Feel so helpless and upset to leave her there, especially without her Zuccy with her. Going to take him down to her tomorrow.

Craig thinks the likely cause of the diarrhoea is from the Clindamycin although the onset is perhaps a little late, but there's been nothing textbook about my Moo so far! The outlook is guarded but I'm trying not to think about that.
Breaking my heart to think of her on her own in a strange place
