Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

    We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

    Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

As we all know Myxi is such a horrible disease, and recently I've found a petition (on hunt for research of Myxi) put forward to the government!

If they accept this with enough signatures/votes we could prevent this!
(Even though it says wild rabbits they should administer it to pets?)

I've signed the first bit, waiting for the reply to accept. When it's done, I'll tweet it round. We're probably on a loser though with that awful Leadsome woman in charge of DEFRA.
 
Yeah the reply goes to your junk mail as I was waiting for ages and like this isn't working and did t from both my two emails.

We can only try and get hope for our bunnies (if they find one for wild rabbits they should administer to any rabbit!)
