View Full Version : Hi I'm Lynn
I've been introduced to this forum by Lynda (bunnyhugger) - she's rounding up all us Scots !!
My partner and I visited CARROT at the weekend, and met Lynda, Jim and all the boootiful buns. We're hoping to bond my bunny boy with one of Lynda's bunny girls. Lynda and Jim have a wonderful set up for the buns, who all looked very loved and very happy!! In fact, I'm not sure any of them will want to leave CARROT
My boootiful bunny boy is Robbie (or the Robster). He is the love of my life (don't tell my other half) - nearly three years old, white with grey lop ears (Robbie that is, not the other half !!!). Rob is a 'bit of both' bunny - he goes out to his 'day pad' when Dad and I go to work, but comes into the house in the evening and overnight. Photos attached (I hope).

Hiya!!!!! :D  Great to see you here too, and thank you for your compliments.
*whispers: everyone else please note, do NOT mention dried fruit*
I hate to tell you Lynn but the people from Edinburgh are coming through to view Mac and Gigi, they can't make up their minds :?

Hi Lynn
I adopted one of Lynda and Jim's bunnies about three months ago. She is called Truffle and luckily gets on great with my original bun, Bambi  although they manage to get up to tons of mischief together.
You're right they do have a great set-up and are dedicated to the rabbits :thumb:
Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Nooooo - dried fruit - the Robsters two favourite words - licking his lips as I type. I know I am a very very very bad mom for giving him this, however he does keep threatening to pack his bunny bags upon its withdrawal, and he does now only get one piece in the morning (when he's such a good boy and uses his litter trays all night!!).
Adele - we got to meet and snuggle the lovely 'Bear' - darling bun !!
Lynda - what route are they taking from Edinburgh - they must be passing Dundee - they can't come take 'my' lovely Gigi - she cuddled me for over an hour. I know this family did view her before, so they probably fell in love too. As long as she gets a lovely new home that's all that really matters - she's such a sweet bun. Keep me udpated please.
Ooohhh Tamsin - thanks very much for sorting out my Avatar thingy :D - Robbie looks gorgeous, even if I do say so myself !!!

Hi Lynn - Dundee Dame!
The Robster is bostin - I might just travel up and rabbitnap! - and what big grey ears his has!! -
Big, Big Welcome - look forward to rabbiting.
Lany, there is no way you will be able to 'bunnynap' him, as we are now having trouble fitting his head out the door with all the compliments he is getting. :D
Lynda gave him a whole page on her 'bunnyhugger site below, so if anyone wants to see any more photos of my boy, heres the link

 not at all Lynn, the more hits the site gets, the better. Jim says if I reach a certain limit, he'll donate some of his DJ money to CARROT
Good - I'll probably clock up a good thousand hits or so on your website over the next couple of days - checking to see if little Gigi gets 'reserved'
When are the family coming to visit her - not that I am trying to get in first or anything (hee hee). Are they considering taking Gigi and the handsome big mac, or just one of your babies.

I'm waiting for the Edinburgh family to phone me. They were getting their newly constructed hutch delivered today, so maybe they'll phone tonight to arrange another visit. Don't fret Lynn, I'll do what's best for the buns
Hello Lynn welcome to you :D

Hi Lynn and welcome  ........... love the pics :thumb:
Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome !! You all have such beautiful bunnies (in fact they all look like butter wouldn't melt in their mouth, which I'm sure isn't the case).
Bunnysam - read your introduction about how you bonded your two bunnies - we're hoping that Rob is getting a 'lady friend' soon, and your story makes me even more sure that we are doing the right thing for him.

Hi Marlene
Whoops, think I have confused people - my other half is originally from just outside Aberdeen (Cove I think - he lived there about 13 years). I am from Dundee.
Rob is loving all his compliments !!!
Talking about cute, your avatar is lovely - Hunny Bunny was a blessing, and was so lucky to find you for his short, but very pampered stay here.

Hi again Lynn
You didn't confuse anyone at all - it is me - what I meant to say was "I am from Aberdeen" :!:
I think I was so chuft at getting on my smileys I got over excited  And I see I put it on twice as well. What a tattie! My "senior" moments are increasing
Thanks for your comments on Hunny Bunny!
'What a tattie' - I like that - made me smile !!
(for those non scots, it would be interpreted as 'what a potato' - hee, hee - completely loses its impact though. Think I'm having a 'senior moment' now)

We have tatties down south! Umm tatty scones, haven't had those in ages :D
Tam
Ah, so they are good old 'tatties' down south too !!
I work in Norwich a couple of days a month, and I often get very confused looks when I come out with some phrases (Lynda, they would just love you, when you go into full Scots twang!!).

Tamsin, can you get tattie scones down where you live?
(Lynda, they would just love you, when you go into full Scots twang!!).
*Ahem* I only write Scots twang, I don't speak it (do I......? )
Lynn, are you doing any work in the office today?
Hee hee - you don't sound anything like your 'full blown scots twang posts' - in fact, hard to believe it's the same person !!
Mmmhh, little work being done today. Must dash into town now - hoping to buy Rob a new (larger) bunny carrier in anticipation of his trip to CARROT to meet some prospective ladies :)

Tattie scones.........yummie , yummie! I also used to make flans where the pastry base was made with "tatties" - so fine!!

Forgive my ignorance, right, but what on earth are tattie scones? Are they a Scotch invention?
I mean I know what potatoes are and I know what scones are, but an amalgamation of the two?!
Despite not knowing what they are, I'd probably scoff 'em.

Morning Telekin
Tattie scones are like a flat savoury scone but are made with mashed potatoes and flour in a round and then cut into triangles (like shortbread) In Scotland they are traditionall FRIED (hope that is not a bad word) along with bacon egg etc. You can but them ready made and they are scrummy. 8)
Here is the proper recipe

Aah, well I was right about stuffing my face with them, then.
I've had them before. Which just really goes to show what sort of person I am really: eat now, think later - I'm sure most people are fully aware of what they're eating before it winds up in their gob. Not me.
Sorry, I've turned this thread into 'Caledonian Cuisine', haven't I?!
