  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Lulu, Leo off to the vets

Both aren't really eating much although nibbling hay. Poop output isn't their usual standard and amount so we're off to the vets tonight for a check up. Only thing is both are acting so normal, bouncing around as if there's nothing wrong? They are only a year old (mini lops) so I'm hoping its really nothing serious at all. Leo is always a bit on/off with his food but Lulu is the piggy but this morning she only wanted hay. I'm guessing teeth may be the problem. Both look fine too, fur is lovely, not dribbling from the mouth and lovely clean bottoms all round. they come over for a fuss and a cuddle and bomb around like there's no tomorrow!

I know bunnies cover illness extremely but I've really never seen so much energy in bunnies off their food, very odd??

Sending lots of vibe for Leo and Lulu. Our mini lop had spurs on back tooth when he was about 1 and stopping eating/pooping was the main sign, but he was also moving less and sitting looking uncomfortable, definitely not bombing around! Hope the vets help xx

Vibes for the vet visit :)

I raced home to get them both to the vet only to find them both munching on hay!! Just to make sure I wasn't seeing things I gave them some tea only for them to dive in as if they'd never been fed!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes!! I looked in their hut and poop everywhere too I was amazed as they were fine. I cancelled the vet visit and kept a very close eye on both over the whole weekend and they seem totally fine, very strange indeed but at least they seem happy thank goodness :thumb:
