Cookie and Elmo - Thrianta Brothers UD 14/12

Not sure if anyone remembers me anyway but I'm back! Two years ago I unfortunately had to rehome my rabbits due to moving to university halls and not knowing how many years it'd be before I could bring them to Nottingham with me and afford them, and my family members were going to Australia for 3 months so they couldn't look after them for me either. They all went to amazing homes who have given them a much better life than I could have at the time, and I stay in contact with the new owners. Anyway me and my partner moved in to a lovely home with a rabbit-friendly landlord and I have a steady income to be able to pay for any surprise vet bills so we felt like we could provide a good home for some bunnies in need, so say hello to Elmo and Cookie, 4 month old Thrianta's :love: Also they have an instagram - elmocookiebuns

Hi Demi! So good to see you back on here with baby bunnies  It was only the other day I was wondering whether you still had any rabbits! Elmo and Cookie are gorgeous :)

Not only do I remember you, weirdly enough I was wondering how you were doing only this weekend  I was at FHB's lectures and she was talking abscesses, one of the case studies reminded me of Flash which led me to think of your bunnies and you having to give them up ....

Really pleased for you that you've got bunnies in your life again.

Just wanted to say, what gorgeous bunnies ! I have never heard of that breed, they are super cute. Hope the bunny proofing works out ok :D

Thanks everyone :D Going to the vets this morning for a pre-op check. They're 4 months old, not fighting but Elmo did try hump Cookie yesterday so I think the first priority is get them neutered, then start the combi and VHD2 vaccs once they're healed. I always used to feel guilty before about not being able to provide my rabbits the best life, could never even afford to get them vaccinated but I can't wait to do it all much better this time round!

Thanks! How are you doing? Do you still have bunnies? :) Flash, Baby and Naami are doing brilliantly in their new homes, unfortunately Harley died recently  but he had a great life at his new home and they found Naami a new partner.

Haha that is strange! Flash is still going, nearly 11 now and doing great. Still angers me that that awful vet basically told me he was a lost cause, would probably die during the operation or have a horrible painful life after, and he's absolutely fine his abscess was cleared and dental problems never came back

I'm back! Thrianta Babies

Really good thank you! Yep still have bunnies. I have Primrose, Reuben and Bertie, all rescues. :) Not sure if you remember Hector? He was my last jumping bun and after I lost his friends Theo and Poppy I adopted Primrose to be his new partner. Then when Hector sadly passed away I adopted Reuben and Velvet to live with Primrose to form a trio. Sadly Velvet died suddenly at the end of last year :( but I recently adopted Bertie as I had room for one more. Definitely prefer having trios to pairs!

So sorry to hear about Harley, that's so sad he was a lovely bun. Glad the others are doing well though. :) Can't believe how old Flash is now!

Took them to the vets this morning and their plums haven't fully dropped so we started off with the vaccinations instead. I also bought a small short pen to cover up the fireplace, and thought I'd put it around their dog crate for now so they can gradually explore more and more of the living room (didn't want to overwhelm them), but within two minutes they jumped over it and were binkying all around the living room   They've been so well behaved though, not a single wee/poo outside their crate and I've only had to tell Elmo off once for trying to dig in the rug but he seems to be responding to 'Ah Ah!' quite well. My partner has been clicker training them with their pellets and now they won't stop climbing all over him

They are absolutely stunning  if I was to have bunnies again after my current ones (I'm not though!) then they would be a dream breed to own. I love orange animals! We definitely need lots of photos of them on here :D

I love orange animals too! Agree that we need loads and loads of photographs of them. Love the idea of them being all over your oh thanks to clicker training with pellets!

They learned to jump on the sofa yesterday

Cookie keeps trying to lick our noses

I'd never heard of this breed,so did a bit of googling.Seems they were mainly in the Netherlands and during the war when the Nazi's invaded they were in danger if extinction, due to them being (whispers) eaten by starving folk. They are gorgeous bunnies.
