Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
As title really. Charlie went fir his vaccs last Monday and they said he had a spurr but wanted to see if uncreased hay intake would sort it and stopping pellets completely. Niw since Friday he has been drinking loads and today us sopping wet

Yes he's had intermittent problems before. I did stop pellets as the vet said so but he only gets a small amount anyway. I've weighed him and he is the same weight as at the vets. I will be taking him back in but his wet episodes have been confusing as we haven't been able to get an answer, even with a good vet. I just worry about flies. Might have to get some rearguard

I know that it is time for a dental when my bunny starts drinking & urinating excessively. I thought it was incontinence too, but then I observed closely & found out he just rushed to the toilet & urinated over the lid.
You really do need to be a right detective! He has been put on meds for ec and the vet tidied his rear end. Not a happy bunny! His spurr hasimproved since last week. he should improve in a few days if not will go back. My usual vet is on holiday at the moment. Charlie seems perky this evening though i got meds all over his face
Well he has been on the treatment for ec for 5days and I feel it's got worse. His bum is so wet it's leaving patches on the floor. I keep getting kitchen roll and dabbing his bottom which he lets me do. Am going to talk to a vet today. Typical it's a bank holiday weekend. I'm going to bring them a lovely urine sample
Remind me what meds he's on Lucy?
Sorry to hear things are no better ...
He is on panacur but vet has put him on baytril today and if no improvement by wed they will be doing xrays. I'm going to trim his furr more tomorrow too. He won't be amused lol

I hope that the Baytril might bring about an improvement in his symptoms. Will the Vet also take a urine sample via Cystocentesis if he has to have Xrays ?
I'm not sure but I will ask.
However he is really bright today. Bounding about and mostly dry hopefully it will continue yay

Unfortunately he is leaving big puddles so have an appointment with a rabbit specialist tomorrow morning. Bit nervous
