How much does your bunny weigh?

Shayne_

Warren Scout
Crash Bunny is 7 months old and he weighs 2.3 kg, he is a cross breed/bunny mongrel :love:

So, just curious about everyone elses bunnies?

I guess I'm wondering whether he is a good weight too but hard to know.

P.S... Lady bunnies, sorry for asking such a delicate question! ;)

From left to right we have my boy Joey who is currently 2.5 k & 5 years old , Boo his first wife is currently 2.6k :)oops: vet says she is a tad porky). She was rescued as stray & estimated to be 3 years, my B&W bun is Mouse. She is a very long bunny & my slimmest at 2.8k. We dont know her real age but have decided / guesstimated she is coming up to 5 years

But as you know breed, age etc is no decent guide. I'm terrible - I think my rabbits are skinny whereas I know they aren't really. I like to clock the wight at the vets, always ask their opinion on weight & condition & use that as a guide

Its a good guide, I've seen similar before. See I don't think Mouse's rump is rounded but vets (savvy & specialist) all say her weight is good. She has a massive dewlap which makes her look bigger than she is

After some fiddling around with a treat...

I can easily feel his spine and ribs.. I dont have a clue how a bunny bum can be flat... And hes got space under him when he hops around, not a big tummy

He seems normal to me... I think..?

Petra won't let me weigh her. I think she has a complex from this thread. She's currently comfort eating and shouting "you made me do this" [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Hmm let's see:

Takumi: 1.1kg, mini rhinelander - ideal weight
Persephone: 1.5kg, mini rex - ideal weight
Elphie: 1.8kg, dwarf lop - underweight
Apollo: 1.8kg, dutch cross - ideal weight
Helios: 2.4kg, standard rex - overweight
Selene: 2.3kg, standard rex - overweight
Morning: 2.3kg, crossbreed - ideal weight (vet says she's a perfect looking rabbit in every way!)
River: 2.3kg, crossbreed - ideal weight
Athena: 2.2kg, lionhead (large) - ideal weight

A bit all over the place, tbh. Helios & Selene have lost weight since I've had them, but I also think they steal Elphie's food. Elphie shrank down to 1.4kg but she's now gaining slowly. These rabbits.

Boots (medium sized lop) weighs 2kg, he had his booster the other day and the vet said he was an ideal weight :thumb:

Crash looks pretty healthy from what I see on the photos. That guide is fairly good too :thumb:

Hector and his weight won't be helpful. Just short of 9kg (conti)

Shayne, your bun looks very healthy to me :)

Lupin, my mini rex, is ideal weight at 1.6kg.

Tanglefoot, my Continental Giant, is also ideal weight at 3.5kg... at 4 months

This is so odd, we were just talking about bunny weight! Mum has only just started touching the rabbit (after 7 years...) but she doesn't like that you can feel his spine!

My bun's a pet shop mutt, he's about 2.4kg. I think he may have some lionhead in him, as his 'neck fluff' is very light and quite long, but I honestly have no idea! I got him before I knew anything much about rabbits to be honest, but he's taught me a lot and I wouldn't change him for the world! He slipped down to 2.37kg after his recent bout of stasis, but he's put the weight back on well and is back to 'normal' :)

I had them both weighed at the vets on tues. Ruby is 2.4 and Benny 2.6 - I think they may be a tab overweight but the vet said she though they were just very healthy (i.e very well fed!). Benny is a cross - lionhead/alaska and Ruby is an Alaska.

Have started hiding pellets among the hay. They act like they are on starvation rations when I feed them and both come barrelling into the main hutch and up the stairs like a pair of baby elephants when they hear the food bag!
