So a couple of months ago i posted a thread saying that I would be adopting a 3 year old teddy guinea pig from my college when she retired this summer. Unfortunately a few weeks ago she passed away unexpectedly. This then left me with having to find a new companion for Little-pig. Unfortunately no rescues nearby had anything suitable, they only had either single neutered males requiring female companions or male pairs. We specifically needed really young baby boars of which they can then accept.
The college offered me some baby guinea pigs, I had a choice of four and we couldn't decide between two teddy brothers.. so we decided to get them both. I had Jasper alone too following the loss of Edmondo in May. We collected them last Tuesday on the 28th June when they were 22 days old.
The adults accepted the babies so well, they are settling down now and there is less rumble strutting and dominancy. I am so happy that Little-pig finally has a friend after being alone since November. He has improved so much and he is finally happy again.
The darker boy is called Enzo and the lighter boy is Pino. They are such characters and the most vocal piggies I have ever owned! I can't wait to watch them grow up. Pino is going to be a very big piggy by the looks of things!
The boys currently weigh:
Pino - 366 grams
Enzo - 323 grams
D.O.B - 6th June 2016
First day home!
Bonding Jasper (Adult) with baby Enzo
Bonding Little-pig (Adult) with baby Pino
The next day....
Pino likes to pose!
Enzo likes to play peek-a-boo!
Jasper & Enzo!
Little-pig and Pino!
