Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

baby bunny diarrhoea

New Kit
Hi!
I am currently fostering two 3 week old baby bunnies. One has developed very runny faeces. Upon further reading I have seen that other than giving fibrous foods, worming the bunnies may help. Does anyone know how early a bunny can be given panacur? and any additional advice on diet etc would be appreciated!
Thank you!

Watery diarrhoea is very serious, particularly in young rabbits - I'd suggest the vet as they may need fluids. Three weeks is a very sensitive time for baby rabbits. Are they being hand reared?

True watery diarrhea is a life threatening condition in rabbits, usually due to pathogenic bacteria in the digestive tract. As Tamsin has suggested, you should get the bunny to the vet, immediately too as every minute counts with something like this. Also if they are being fed any veg/herbs or sugary/high carb foods, I would stop those as they may be the cause, or at least contributing to the diarrhea.

Agree with other replies, also it won't be worms so no need for Panacur, they are too young anyway.
