New Kit
Hello all.
I've been going through the wars with my bun lately, he's all of a suddenly started grunting/snorting when eating/breathing/running ect.
It started when I changed his hay and I didn't notice until I stuck my glasses on how dusty this allegedly 'dust extracted' hay was it was terrible!! So I took him to my vets and the vet checked him over and listened to him weighed him gave him the all okay and prescribed Metacam and said his airways might be inflamed due to the dust, Trix didn't respond to the medication so I requested Baytril he said he has some preferred over Baytril so if they are in stock they'll be available to pick up the next day.. Of course they wasn't so Baytril it was. After a week Trix was slowly responding but nothing drastic so I requested another 7 days and again he improved and the improvements stopped and I've read that this is common in rabbits and Baytril. So I rang the vets and he said "Is there any discharge" so I was honest no but Trix is like his human and very OCD and is constantly cleaning so cause he's constantly cleaning I assume there is a certain amount of discharge. And he refused a change of antibiotics incase he needed them for something more important in the future basically. I feel deflated. Would you seek a second opinion?
He's never made these noises before and he was born on 24/5/15 I've not had him since then obviously and the fact he had SOME improvement I honestly have a feeling he just needs a better antibiotic.
