Hi all,

Are we allowed to recommend a rabbit insurance company on here?

I think it's about time I got some sorted, but I'm not sure who to go with. My dogs are with Direct Line, but I don't think they do rabbits.

Feel free to PM if we need to keep them off the forum x

I've never had any problems at all with Pet Plan. They have always paid out and have just agreed to pay my vets directly for treatment even though we've had an estimate of £1000-2000. When I was a little concerned yesterday Molly Varga said herself that we should have no problem with Pet Plan and I'm guessing she would know! And we had to claim 2 weeks after getting our buns too when one of them hurt his leg and we had to take him to the emergency vets.

This comes up regularly and PetPlan seem to be rated quite highly. Some other companies may be cheaper - but you have to be careful to compare like with like for cover.

I'm fairly sure that most vets deal directly with PetPlan, I know mine certainly do and so did the specialist vet that I saw when Storm broke his leg. It was all sorted within 24 hours of me making a claim so I couldn't rate them any higher.

I did a similar post recently and everyone mostly said Pet Plan or Pets at Home. Make sure whoever you go with the that it's a "Life Policy".

Thanks for your reply Gemma, I signed up for Pet Plan online last night, I'm pretty sure it was a life policy, but I will double check. I feel better having got that done, as I keep reading the health threads, bit of piece of mind!

I didn't see your thread  X

Petplan only offer a life cover for rabbits. £2000 cover as standard
