Which setup is best?

New Kit
Hey! I have a few options as far as housing my new rabbits and would love to know which you all think is best and also any adjustments I could make to make their homes more suitable!

No matter which I get I will be enclosing in the hutch area to become an entire living area and have the run constantly accessible

Points to bear in mind with all these is that you need to be able to get into or reach in to all the nesting areas to be able to clean them regularly. You also need to be able to do periodic cleaning in the run areas, and you may need to be able to actually get in them to catch your rabbits. Some of the designs look quite awkward to get into - either small access points (rather than an opening top part of the run that you can step into, or very fiddly / longer than your arm and at an odd angle to bend into nest areas. Find one that you will be able to access and it will make things so much easier for you. Plus, it is very frustrating when you need to catch a rabbit and you can't actually reach it.

Have you looked at an aviary type run, or a dog kennel with run?

I don't think any of them have enough 'internal' space at all, sorry. They also all looks like quite cheap materials and won't last long.

Before I knew better my buns had a chicken coop - it was a nightmare to clean, made of nasty cheap wood which the buns loved to chew and only lasted a year before I chucked it and bought a secondhand play house and big run for them (which they still have 7 years on)

You are definitely better with a shed or playhouse and attached aviary run, much easier to clean out and spend time sitting with them too. If you can't fit in a shed/playhouse I would go for a hutch at least 6ftx2ft with an attached run of at least 8ft x6ft, at least 3ft tall so they can binky. There's more inspiration on here in the housing sticky or on http://www.rabbitwelfare.co.uk/ahutchisnotenough.htm

The only problem is that not suitsble hutches are made ANYWHERE is aus. Biggest I have found is 4foot by 2foot. The ones on eBay are the only ones that provide enough living space

There may be nothing suitable listed as 'rabbit' or 'hutch'. How about searching for dog runs or cattery accommodation, or 'aviary' for a large run. In the UK a lot of people who make garden sheds may also offer something suitable.

I bought something VERY similar to those setups when I first got my buns and I can give you this advice . . . DON'T DO IT! There is nowhere near enough indoor space and you have to be either a yoga master or a contortionist to be able to clean them out properly!

I know there is an issue of good rabbit housing in Aus but, as others have said, you can get creative. Lots of us here in the UK are now converting sheds into rabbit homes, with an attached run accessed via a cat flat. My buns have this and they love it.

The dog kennel idea is also a good one . . . although you'd still need to add an additional run area to them for extra outdoor space. And, like with sheds, you can add lots of levels and ramps etc. This is the sort of thing some people use:
