  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hi there

Personally I use William Lewis. Now he is a bit of a drive from you I am afraid, he is based in 2 Vets4Pets Practices. One is in Braintree (I believe hes there tomorrow) and the other Maldon.

if you can't get there then I understand Lawton and Stoakes in Romford have exotics specialists but I have personally never used them.

I would definitely recommend William Lewis :D

William lewis is an amazing vet from all the people that have gone there. Even if you usually deoend on another day to day vet taking soecial cases to him will be really worth it.

William and and Lewis is quite far for me to go,not just for me personally but travelling time for holly, I have a appointment with our regular practice tomorrow and if still no good I will try Lawton and stokes in Romford, thanks girls xx

Personally, I wouldn't go back to that vet practice but would go to one of those recommended. Sometimes it is worth travelling to get the best advice/treatment.

Just got back and the lady I saw was very thorough she still has a infection or it has came back hence the smell, she said she was obviously in pain and holding her wee, so more antibiotics, and big changes on diet, advised no treats and limit vegetables I will post longer on my main thread thanks
