  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Does anyone know of any vets local to Godalming who have the vaccine in stock now?
I have found a vet half an hour away who is in the process of getting it but it could take a few weeks.
My OCD is so bad I literally can't cope and am having a breakdown, I can't even go downstairs for fear of going past the front door let alone actually go out. I desperately need them to have the vaccine NOW!
Willing to travel max an hour or I can get a prescription from my vets they will collect it.

Sorry no - my vet in Cambridge has just ordered but I dont know yet when it will arrive.

If I remember this thread I will post to say when it has arrived so you get an idea of how long it might take.

Have you thought of setting up a disinfectant foot dip to use as you re-enter the house once you have been out? that way you could at least walk round the garden - even if the OCD would make you fear to touch anything with hands etc.

The bunnies are inside. I can't go in our garden not since seeing the rat!
Do you know how long it takes to become active after the first jab?

Full protection is thought to be achieved 5-7 days AFTER the 2nd dose of Cunivak

So for example if dose one were given today, dose two would be given in 3 weeks time and then it'd be approximately another week after that for a full immune response to RVHD2 to occur.
