Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Infacol for baby bunny?

chloe60

Young Bun
My 12 week old boy is very gassy (loud gurgling noises, teeth grinding) he is still eating, drinking, weeing and pooing. And when he gets up and going hes fine, very mischevious and then he goes to lie down and grinds his teeth. Pretty much normal besides the gas symptoms. He is going to the vets tomorrow to get his injection so i will ask her to have a look at him.

But is infacol alright for him now? We gave him 3 (0.5ml) droppers this morning (one per hour) but it doesnt seem to have helped that much. He is a 12 week minilop. So hes quite small still . Should i up the dose? Is there anything else i can do for him? i am massaging gently and it helps slightly as i smell a strong smell a few moments after massaging him. I am also trying slight heat ( putting him on a warm water bottle and massaging him and he seems to relax slightly.

Thankyou

I think you've posted a few times about this little rabbit: runny poo/stuck poo. I would just be concerned that there is some underlying problem.

I think it was MightyMax, wasn't it, who recommended Infacol on your other thread? Perhaps PM her about dose?
I just don't think a baby rabbit should be having these problems. I can't remember whether we've covered what you are feeding him?

How did you get on with the vet?
She said i had nothing to worry about i was just introducing something to his diet to fast. She said that he was fine. I think since i only lost my bunny oscar a coupl of months ago that im just over looking everything.
