Not been on a while but sad news!

Hi all,

I have not been on a while but some really sad new.
First the good news.
I got a new job and 2 months ago I got married.
Now the sad news! Lola our 3 yr old lop had been in and out of the vets for a while
with problems with her teeth! We just could not get her to eat hay!
Out vets were not specialist in rabbits as there are none up beside us. So after us asking for more to be done, they did an X-ray and were told she had an Abcesses so we were referred to to the D1ck vets in Edinburgh.
We travelled down last Thursday. Lola was sent for a CT scan. They fond 3. 2 below the bottom teeth and 1 below the left eye. So we were told that they could not operate!
Lola was 3 yrs old. It was horrible. She was in my arms when she died.
Gutted can't describe how we feel. Flat is so empty!

The vet spoke to us about other rabbits that had the same. The youngest being 4 months old. It's such a shame!

Here is Lola.

Oh no I'm so sorry that you have lost Lola, and that you had the added stress of going all that way to the vets. She looks so much like my Toffee, he has bad teeth and has to have dentals every 6 weeks. It's such a struggle to get enough fibre into them when they're like that. I live in the Highlands, I have no choice of vets, there is only one I can get to. Fortunately they've been really good with my two.
On a happier note, congratulations on new job and getting married !
