Worried rabbit owner

Sherri

New Kit
Hi. I'm thinking about moving my rabbits outside so they can have a bigger hutch and run attached. I'm not so worried about them adjusting to the outside....I'm worried about fox's or cats getting to them. can anyone suggest any strong hutches and runs. (All the ones Iv looked at so far look very flimsy) And any other preventative measures???

Also they destroyed their last hutch by chewing the wood and managed to open the door by themselves thankfully they were inside when they escaped but had to swap them over to a plastic cage after that
Thanks

hi and welcome to the forum, I would wait till spring now if you really want to move your rabbits outside, the main reason being many outdoor bunnies would have built up and grown a thick winter coat to help them through the worst of weather

Thankyou yes I probably wouldn't do it yet. Just looking for a really good hutch so I know they will be safe when it's time for them to be moved

A Playhouse or small shed provides better protection from predators and you can attach a run or aviary to one side with a cat flap. You can buy a playhouse for about the same price as a good hutch but they last a lot longer.

Thanks for link suggest

I also highly recommend the welfare hutch company. Strong well made hutches and runs in decent sizes.
