Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

What age can you give panacur to babies?

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me asking but I am struggling to find this online. It is looking highly likely I will be getting my little 15 week old bunny. Once I have him, I'll be booking him in ASAP for his vaccination shortly followed by his neutuer.

But I'm just wondering when shall I consider giving panacur? And will I also need to give this to honey as a precaution or am I going over the top a little?

Appreciate people's advice! :) xx

Most of us seem to agree that it is unnecessary to worm rabbits unless there is some evidence that the rabbit needs to be wormed.

I've always been advised by the Vet that worming is unnecessary unless there are symptoms.

Hi everyone, thanks for your comments and that's absolutely fine.. Saves me a job! :)

I was only asking as an exotic specialist ages ago actually recommended to me that when introducing a new rabbit to a current bunny, you should always worm as a precaution so nothing un towards may be passed on from the new rabbit. But that's fine, and thanks everyone x

Some people do, some don't. I would do whatever you feel comfortable with.

I would maybe assess on a 'case by case' basis :D Not sure if that helps!
