Gem

Wise Old Thumper
So while Karen is recovering, Hovis and Cherry are lodging with me for a bit.

They are such sweet gentle souls, easily worried but absolutely no trouble although Hovis gave me a right scratch down my chest yesterday!

Cherry is doing some gentle physiotherapy and balance exercises to try and build up the muscle in her remaining back leg as she has a bit of trouble balancing.

Both are eating well, loving the hay and fibre first sticks I'm giving as a treat, they had a few science selective pellets as a treat tonight with their own dinner.

Cherry asked for a nose rub the other night, I'm sure if she usually does or not.

I'm very fond of them and will be sad to see them return home to their mum

She's standing properly on her leg after getting herself upright. Balance is still wobbly but it's a good start.

Proud of them [emoji7][emoji7]

Gem you're really kind to look after them.

They really look like they have made themselves at home with you :D

Aaaw - I can't sleep tonight - probably partly due to being in bed all day and partly due to stretching to get hay out of the wheelie bin for the piggies:oops: - and seeing Cherry and Hovis has really cheered me up.

Cherry does like nose rubs if she is in the mood.

I'm not sure when I will be up to having them back. I don't feel ill as such so it is very frustrating not being able to do anything. However, as I realised after getting the hay out of the bin, my tummy is still pretty sore inside and out. I am also sleeping a lot and get tired very quickly. I am off work and unable to drive for six weeks. I see the consultant on 15 October to get the results of the tests they have done on the tissue they removed and should find out then if I need further treatment or if all the cells were in the pre-cancerous stage.

I want to continue Cherry's physiotherapy - I had no idea that could help - and also would really appreciate your advice and assistance in making their flooring Cherry and Hovis friendly. I think I will probably have to keep them in a pen but wondered if the crate could be replaced with something smaller to give them more space? My kitchen isn't huge so I'm not sure of the best way to organise things.

They are a devoted couple which is why I was so cross when Animed wouldn't let Hovis stay with Cherry and so relieved when John Chitty always kept them together. Hovis barely ate the night he was separated from Cherry.

Thank you sooooo much for taking them Gem. I miss them a lot but I know I can't care for them yet - I am struggling just to look after myself at the moment. As soon as I can find someone to bring me over when you are at home I will come for a visit and a cuddle.

Here they are tonight.

Both doing okay after their vet trip this afternoon.

Aaaw thank you. I've never tried putting meds on food. I'm glad they're eating it.

Thank you so much for looking after them for me xxx

Aww lucky rabbits being so thoughtfully cared for.

I am sure their happiness will be a great tonic for Rhianna.

Sorry about the photo quality, I didn't realise the camera on my ipod was so rubbish, more photos coming soon

Thank you gem. I'm really sorry I wasn't well enough to come and visit them today. I've been sick and am shivering. Was going to go and get shopping too but hector (my best friend) went and got it for me and hoovered and mopped the floor.

I'm in bed now as I don't feel well. Hopefully I'll be able to come and see them tomorrow. I wish John was there this week. I was offered an appointment with the other exotic vet but when I saw her last time she said I really needed to see John.

That's no problem, you just concentrate on getting better, they are both fine for the next few days but like I said they will need to see the vet again [emoji4]
