  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

runny poop....

Depends on loads of things !!

Age of Rabbit- any abnormal output from a baby Rabbit is cause for concern.
Is the 'runny poo' diarrhoea or unformed cecotrophs ? There is a difference
Is the Rabbit fine within him/herself-ie eating and drinking as per normal, bright and alert ?

Is one runny poop cause for concern??

Did you feed anything different? Is there a change in behaviour or eating habits?

I would certainly keep a close eye and think of anything different that you gave/happened ... ?

All seems normal with him, alert and no change in diet. Just one runny poop. Its definatly not the grapey type poops thingys. Ive kept an eye out and changed the litter and there is normal poops in there now and no runny poops x

I don't leap to the vet at the smallest sign, so I would have said just keep an eye in the case of one runny poop! :thumb:

if there is no change in diet or anything and the poops are normal now and stay normal you have nothing to worry about but if it starts to pick up again i will consider going to a vet to get that checked out
