Since Cherry had her leg amputated - with lots of problems afterwards - she and her husbun, Hovis, have moved into the kitchen.
Neither will use a litter tray and there are puddles and bunny droppings all over the floor. It is driving me mad. I have a very old washing machine, which has already blocked once, and within five minutes of me putting fresh rugs down they are wet again.
Hovis now has sore hocks. He went to the vet yesterday and she gave metacam and baytril but said I need to change the surface of the floor to something like a duvet. I can't cover the kitchen in a duvet and they will pee all over it anyway. His hocks were fine when he was outside on the concrete so I have no idea why he has problems now.
I am at my wits end. The constant mess was bad enough. I can live with it but am having a hysterectomy on 28 Sept so won't be able to hoover, brush or use washing machine and can't ask my friends to clear up after the rabbits. Now Hovis has such sore legs something needs to be done, but I don't know what. The vet said to give them a smaller area with a duvet in but when Hovis and Cherry were in a pen in my bedroom after Cherry's op he started attacking her because of the lack of space. They now have their close bond back again - and she needs him to groom the bits she can't reach.
I know I am really stresed at the moment and not thinking clearly but I can't come up with a solution that will work for these two.
Help!!!! - please
