Takes eight weeks for hormones to die down and get all the little swimmers gone, so at least that long before attempting to bond

Should be old enough to neuter especially if his little bits have dropped! Also a good idea to neuter or spay when younger like this to prevent from developing bad bun behavior!!!

He will remain fertile for about 3 - 4 weeks maximum.

As for hormones settling down - allow up to 12 weeks for that.

I would leave it for 4 weeks minimum, but preferably 6 weeks. I have first had experience of a castrated Buck impregnating a Doe more than 4 weeks after he'd had his op. Granted it's rare, but it certainly can happen !

''Note: following castration, the buck may remain fertile for at least four weeks and sometimes longer than this; the buck should be kept apart from any does until six weeks after castration. (B600.3.w3, P113.2005.w6)''
