Mama Doe
I'm quite worried about my bunny.
I have a house bunny. She's a year and a half old and a house bunny.
I've had her since birth - myself and my old flat mate had her parents.
Anyways, I have had an extremely close bond with her and when we left the flat, my old flat mate took her mum and dad and I took her (her and her parents never got on. To the point that we couldn't have her in the same room when they were out or she would go nuts and vice versa). I moved back in with my mum and dad (and tortoise) - my parents are retired and she has an amazing relationship with all of us. The vets told me not to get another bunny due to the close bond.
Yesterday was a normal day. We had a BBQ so I took her outside and popped her in her pen whilst we got the garden ready. Then I took her out (I don't like her being in a cage when I'm home) and let her play in the garden. Although she's quite inquisitive, she wanders off and then comes back for cuddles and to make sure that I'm there.
Normally when it starts to go cold, I take her back in and we have some snuggles then she has the reign of the house. We had cuddles and then I put her down and she just ran off and hid in the corner. She is a really playful bunny but wouldn't come near me - almost as if she was sulking.
I tried to bribe her with some parsley but she just gave me a dirty look. Then I tried to bribe her with a shreddie (she loves both as treats) and she glared at me and turned her back to me!
I came down at 3am to check on her as she wouldn't go near anyone all night and I'm a bit of a worry wart like that.
When I woke up this morning I came straight to check on her and she hasn't touched her food, water, hay or parsley. I opened the cage and took her out of the cage and gave her a cuddle. She jumped out of my arms (we were on the floor) and ran behind the sofa where she has been ever since. She still won't eat anything and she backs off when I go to stroke her.
It's really not like her and I don't understand why she's sulking. Has anyone else experienced this and what can I do?! She's not accepting bribes and I'm missing having cuddles!!
