  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Small lump under eye?

Holhol

Alpha Buck
Last night I noticed a teeny little lump underneath Fergies right eye - it's probably 1cm below the middle of his bottom eyelid and isn't more than a couple of mms in size. There's no pus, no mark on the skin where it is and I can't see anything on the inside of his eyelid.

It doesn't seem to be sore and it moves with the skin, he's happy to let me poke it. Just a bit worried it's a mini abscess or myxi - I know I'm probably being silly with the myxi thing but he had his jabs late a couple of weeks ago (he was on panacur) so I'm being a panicker! :(

I'm stuck at uni until Friday night and probably won't be home til well after the vets shut, so my mum is keeping an eye on it for me but I don't know what to do about it. Really id like to take him to the vets but I'm not off until September now and my mum doesn't drive.

Anyone ever had anything similar? I hate being away from him :(

I am sorry that I have no advice or experience with that but wanted to bump this up so someone who has seen this before might see this. I also send vibes for him and you.It is hard to be away from your bunny.

It could well be a cyst. I know you are unable to get him to the vets but could someone five your mum a lift or even a taxi to pop to the vets, it's probably nothing to worry about but always best to get these things checked out.
