Hi
My 6 year old bun went into GI stasis last Monday, he has now been an in patient at the vets for over a week and there doesn't seem to be very much progress. He had a GA and dental (although I'm not convinced he needed it personally) last Weds and then he was transferred to an exotic vets a few miles away as still no improvement. His last bout of gi stasis was at the beginning of May and lasted about 5-6 days.
He is now in day 8 this time round and has shown very little interest in food, still needing syringe feeding, has hardly poo'd, is currently receiving antibiotics as his bloods last Weds showed he had an infection, pain relief etc. I have rung today and they are going to do an x-ray today or tomorrow.
From my previous experience with GI stasis (in both this bun and my previous one) they have normally got better by now - just wondering what was the length of time people have had in their experience?
Many thanks
