I am assuming that the photos are of dried urine, so just the calcium deposits remain visible on the paper ? If so that is not too much to be concerned about, just something to keep an eye on. I would try to reduce the amount of pelleted feed as it is pellets that contribute more to calcium issues than veg. If you could get her on a hay/forage/grass/veg only diet that would be great. But I dont know if she has any other problems that may mean this is not an option ?

Is she a dental Rabbit by any chance ? Dental problems and bladder sludge issues can sometimes occur together

This may be useful to take a look at:

Just to add, that Sno water is the lowest calcium I have found so far - even less than Deeside. Basically, there is pretty much no calcium in it at all.

Hi Jane

Yes you are correct about the dried urine and no shes not a dental bun and hasnt had any sludge issues in the past, but she did have a uti 12 months ago,i just can't seem to completely eradicate the calcium stains,i think i will try a hay/grass/veg/forage diet that you suggested thx Jane.

I wouldn't worry about that if it were my buns, but I *would* seek ways of reducing calcium if possible.

Pellets are high in calcium, as is alfalfa hay, kale, spring greens and parsley (just to name some). I would get yourself a list of low calcium veggies and perhaps major on them and hay for a period and see if this resolves.

Just for the record, celery (though granted, not many buns' all time favourite ) is not only low in calcium but great for 'cleansing' the bladder, as is Romaine lettuce :thumb:

PS I like the way you've 'dated' the calcium sample
