Barney - one year on

Hugo's There

Wise Old Thumper
Barney has been with us a year now so I thought it would be nice to update you as I know many of you followed him on RU.

Since arriving here Barney has never had a single tummy issue or any hint of stasis. We quickly took him off all his meds and introduced all regular bunny foods with no adverse effects at all. He eats all hay types and I definitely never have to pick out certain sized strands for him!

Once he had settled here he bonded to the lovely Hallie and moved into their own aviary. They have been happily enjoying life together ever since. Barney is just a normal happy healthy bunny :)

Here he is today ( he is currently going through a huge moult)

Awesome update, Liz!
Gotta admit to a soft spot in my heart for this boy. So glad he is doing so well. :) xxxx

was going to ask if was going through huge moult I think a lot of bunnies are looking like this now, he is cute

It's great to hear he's doing so well. I'm so glad he's happy. He's a lovely bunny and I miss him. Incidentally, he never had stasis here either... He just had stomach pain after eating, which obviously must have been connected to the urine infection which was discovered and treated by your vet. Sending him lots of kisses and snuggles...

I saw the thread title and thought it must be a different Barney as I thought there's no way it's a year already  where does the time go?? So glad he's a happy, healthy chap enjoying life with his pal :)

The stomach pain wasn't caused by his urine infection that was just something that was missed. The stomach pain was caused by stress. That was in his previous vet notes his specialist vet notes and also our exotics specialist vet's opinion. Which would explain why they stopped as soon as he arrived here :) The urine infection was not treated for over a week after his arrival as we were unable to register him with our vet until we knew whether he was staying or not so sadly treatment got delayed but he still had no tummy pains so definitely not caused by the infection :)
