Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Lola has been admitted :(

Wise Old Thumper
It's never ending

It looks like she's been going into statis, but after bouncing back the other day she started flopping, digging, lying hunched and letting you touch her, which isn't Lola in any way, shape or form.

Got her back to the vets yesterday and she had the meds but nothing changed over night so this morning she had a dental and while she was under she had an X-ray and bloods taken, there was a small build up of gas but her blood sugar levels are nearing dangerous levels so they're keeping her in on a drip etc :( if by tomorrow or Monday she is still bad then they want to refer us to a specialist.
She has her food and everything but the vet nurse will try and syringe feed her... So I wish her luck with that, no doubt she'll get some decent wounds from her! And tomorrow it's another good vet on, he's on emergency vet duty too so that's good.

Another stress is that Donny had to come back home as his heart rate was through the roof. He doesn't do well at the vets at all :( Lola has been getting sick of him jumping all over her and kept going for him last night which started a few arguments between them. He is fine now, calmed down and is eating and darting around the bedroom. No poo yet but with him being an outdoor rabbit I'm not sure when he poos more.. Like Kerbie and Leo poo a lot more in the evening.
He did look for her when we were back though  I hope Lola is okay on her own. I hope I made the right decision. As well as her going for him, he was eating all of the food.
I'm going to keep them side by side and have things from the shed that smell of them so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue getting them back together, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Many vibes on their way for Lola, I hope she'll be okay and that Donny will be calm while she's at the vets. (((((((Huge hugs))))))) xxxx

My goodness what is wrong with her? How worrying, I hope you here some news today. I hope she is stabilized today, you must be worried sick, sending lots of vibes for Lola xx (((((((hugs)))))) for you xx

She pooped overnight and has improved a bit. Vet wants to keep her in today/overnight again and we are going to take some more of her pellets and things over later on.
Donny is doing okay, I forget they don't do as much in the day so I'm checking on him constantly and giving him fibafirst sticks and pellets to make sure he's still eating  he is.. So will stop so he eats more hay, he is eating and pooping over night but didn't really last night as the hay wasn't amazing.. He had some timothy hay from a new bag today though and it looks much nicer though so hopefully he'll get munching. We had lots of binkies from him last night and I'm trying to keep him occupied.

Not really getting much support from family, just "how much will that cost?" And "is it worth it?" ..I mean I know Lola is an aggressive little madam but she'd either be dead or in a lot of pain by now if we just left her :? The X-ray, dental, meds and bloods will be around £350 but no idea about the admission/drip costs. Not that it matters, I don't get why they can't understand that..

I am glad to hear that Lola has shown some signs of improvement, hopefully that will continue and she will be able to return home tomorrow xx
