Vaccination and EC treatment?

Holhol

Alpha Buck
Ferg has been tested for EC after repeated stasis episodes and blood tests came back positive so my good rabbit savvy vet thinks this is probably linked with the stasis. I'm picking up his panacur today/tomorrow to start treatment but he's due his vaccinations within the next month and I'm not sure what to do about them.

I was going to get them done in 2 weeks (before I found out about the EC) as I'm off that week, otherwise will need to do a Saturday am appointment. By the time his panacur treatment is done his vaccinations will be late :( we aren't in a myxi area at all but I don't know how compatible a vaccine and sort of EC are - i don't want to make him ill

He isn't showing any signs of EC (no head tilt etc.) but has had stasis 4 times in 7/8 weeks. He's absolutely fine (touch wood) now so I think I'm going to have to speak to the vet about it when I get his panacur.

give him his medicine, finish the course and leave a couple of weeks as after that for jabs. advice I was given by a specialist vet. vaccinations have a carry over period so he should be ok. ny baby had her jabs 2 weeks after coming off the panecur

I wouldn't worry about the vax until he's a finished his Panacur. They don't automatically 'expire' after a year, it's just that their efficacy has only been tested up to a year.

Thanks everyone - thought that would be the case! Going to be a nightmare fitting his vaccs in as I'll be on rotation but Saturday morning it will have to be! :)

Starting the panacur on Saturday so probably going to wait 6/7 weeks before doing his vaccinations, will get a tooth check at the same time and see how we're doing on the dental front too!

I think I'm on a rotation in Nottingham/Derby when he's going to have to have his jabs and not entirely sure if we're expected to work Saturdays on that one! Hoping I can drive home on the Friday and get him done Saturday :) mum is going to have to do a lotttt of bun sitting this year
