How to use cleaning disinfectant?

So I was watching a video on YouTube the other day on cleaning rabbit hutches, when it came to disinfecting the girl sprayed the disinfectant then left it until it dried?
Is this a suitable way?
I always thought you had to spray then wipe it away?

Most disinfectants have a contact time of 10-20 mins (read the instructions) so yes you do need to leave them and not wipe them straight away. You need to clean first as the disinfectant doesn't work if there is organic detritus there, and then leave for as long as it says. Depending on the disinfectant you can either just leave it, or if it's one of the ones where the fumes are dangerous to bunnies, rinse thoroughly.

Mine is always left to dry as that's what it says to do on the bottle.
But then the one I use isn't one bought in a pet shop.
