Rabbit Savvy Vet in South West Wales

Hi,

I am in the process of deciding to move from the West Midlands to South Wales (Llandysul / Newcastle Emlyn area) and I am really worried about being able to find an exotics specialist in the area.

I have two bunnies who both need regular dentals, one has a history of tooth root infection and abscesses and both are currently being treated by Marie Kubiak at Manor Vets in Edgbaston. Marie has been fantastic, without her I would have lost Rafferty two years ago and I can't fault her knowledge and experience with rabbits.

Rafferty also has problems with bladder sludge and mild arthritis so I really need to find someone who has a wide range of rabbit knowledge.

Does anyone know of a rabbit specialist in the South / West Wales area please? I am willing to travel up to an hour away if necessary so Swansea / Aberystwyth would be possible (I would find a local vet for the routine things, injections etc).

I would make the move tomorrow and it is something I desperately want to do but my bunnies come first and I need to be sure that I have a plan in place in case of an emergency so any information would be much appreciated!

Hi, and welcome to the forum :wave: hopefully someone local will be able to recommend somewhere. If not, you could try contacting the rwaf, they have a list of vets with an interest in rabbits :thumb:

I am sure that I have heard of a good rabbity vet in Carmarthen (so about half an hour from Emlyn). Cant remember the name though ... May be worth ringing round a few. Good luck. We need more ru'ers in Wales so we can start a hopper group! (RAWF).
