  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vets in South London

Young Bun
The buns are joining us in our new home in South London next week, having waited with family for a few weeks while I got everything settled. I haven't yet sorted out a vet for them and I'm basically terrified - I'm in the Balham area and don't have a car, so I need a vet that I can get to quickly when Spice has a stasis episode if I need to, and who knows what they're doing with buns in terms of her medication, etc. I know there's a good vet in Twickenham, but that would take an hour to get to over multiple train rides or an hour in a taxi (which would cost too much to do in anything but a life and death situation as well as causing a lot of stress).

I've found this vet: http://www.streathamhillvets.co.uk/index.shtml - they seem ok, will give them a call to get an impression of their rabbit-savviness, but does anyone have any experience with them or another good/bad vet in the area to give me some ideas?
