Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Hi,

Just a quickie and sorry if this has been asked before. With everything thats recently happended obviously I'm really keen to try and boost Harvey's immune system in anyway I can.. someone has already suggesting echinacea which is great thank you which I will purchase shortly. But I've found from the amazing kindness of the hay experts, we have been sent some 'OXBOW natural science immune support supplements.'

Has anyone ever used these? Would they be okay for my little bun even though he's on anti-biotics and metacam? Or would I be best checking with the vet?

Thanks so much xx

I use those for our rabbits. Especially those on antibiotics. Galen's garden also do an immune support liquid which is good :)

I gave them to my bunny who was on metacam and abx - if you're at all unsure you could email oxbow - they where very helpful when I contacted them.

Interesting! Does it list the ingredients anywhere? May think about it for my little snuffle bun x

Edited to add ... Just googled the ingredients and the active immune boosters are goldenseal and astragalus. Both excellent immune boosters alongside echinacea :thumb:

Thanks everyone, that's really useful!

It's great to hear others use them too, and I'll be sure to start Harvey on them once a day! :)

Astra 8 Immune Tonic, Andrographis, Echinacea, Probiotics, Garlic, Olive leaf extract and the combo of medical Mushrooms.

That's all you need to have a immunity of a shark.
