  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Today poor Bliss was rushed to the vets. Mid morning I noticed she hadn't moved from the corner she was sat in earlier. When I fed them this morning she didn't run upstairs to the bowl. The vet confirmed my fears. She was kept in, I now have her back home and she has apparently been eating well after her treatment during her stay. I just cannot understand how this all came about. There has been no change to their diet , no stress that I am aware of. It is just such a shock, I have had rabbits nearly 30yrs and never experienced this with any of my rabbits. Her companion is fine.

Oh Jan I hope Bliss is okay and keeps eating and pooping!! Elmo is currently in the vets after having a blockage, so I feel your worry. *hugs* x

Just checked on Bliss she and Ben are washing each other with great gusto. It is so lovely to see.:thumb:

Yes thank you Jane she is back to her normal cheeky self. Oh how we take it for granted when they are well. I think I will feel more now for the bunny owners with sick buns.

Yes we do!

When they get ill it's such a worry as they can be so fragile.

Glad to hear Bliss is better x
