Why dont rabbits bite off there own claws???

I know that may sound like a daft question but they chew through everything. Wires, trays, wood etc. Yet when there claws get long they just let them. One bite and they'd be done, rather than having a fight with us humans! lol x

Tonics need trimming at the mo, so tonight I will spend a long time trying to catch him then trying to snip the claws while he wiggles. Would be so much easier if he did them himself! lol x

i know what you mean! maybe we could teach them to file their nails, since that doesn't necessarily require opposable thumbs...

I was thinking that the other day - would be so much easier :lol: I guess it's a behaviour they'd never naturally need so haven't developed.
