Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Purple spray use on spay wound?

Personally I would not use anything unless specifically advised to by the Vet treating my Rabbit. Also, with Rabbits if you put any lotions or potions on a wound they can reach it just encourages them to nibble at it. I have had numerous Rabbits spayed and never used any topical treatments on the surgical wound :)

Hi Guys

Wondering if anyone can advise on this spray for us after her spay?
https://www.thehayexperts.co.uk/leucillin-antiseptic-skin-care-spray.html

Just wondered if it would help keep it clean and heal?

I use purple spray on my horses so was wondering if its ok?

thanks

Unless your vet specifically recommends it, we don't normally have anything on spay wounds. Check carefully now and again yourself to make sure she doesn't nibble or worry at the wound ...

If you want to use the purple spray, check with your vet first, I would say :)
