I'm not having much luck with my buns just now :(. Honey was fine this morning, although perhaps not quite as sparkly as usual. By midday she wasn't eating, so I gave her some metacam and gut stimulants. Didn't make a difference so I got her to the vet. They said she still had gut sounds, and no sign of an impaction. The vet said her gut felt a bit peculiar in one area.

I thought they would keep her in, but they just gave her some vetergesic and sent her home. She's to get more gut stimulant later and I've to syringe feed if she isn't feeding herself. If she hasn't picked up tomorrow, I've to take her back.

Don't know how keen I am having her sent home, but I suppose there wasn't much they would do and she does get stressed easily.

Her gut hasn't been right for a while now, and these spells are becoming more frequent :(.

Any spare vibes would be appreciated.

Thank you. Although she is only 5, she has had a difficult time health wise, even before I got her at a few months old. She is such a lovely girl too.

So far she is still just sitting around, although she doesn't seem distressed now. I'll give her time to recover from her outing, and if she still isn't eating will need to start syringe feeding.

So sorry to hear about Lance. I hope he is feeling better soon. Has he stopped eating too?

He stopped a few days ago and since then he's been having small amounts of food and critical care but he just seems so quite and not like his usual happy self :( I really hope Honey feels better soon too.

Poor Honey, I hope she's feeling better soon. Is there any indication of what might be causing her gut problems, or have the vets talked about any way to investigate the cause?

I don't know if I'm correct in this, but I generally feel more comfortable when my buns are sent home, unless they're super ill - I know I can tend to them every five minutes if necessary, whereas I don't think they'd get that level of attention at the vet's!

Sending lots of vibes for her. xx

Honey is doing better just now. She has been eating bits on and off, and has had some poops :D. She still isn't eating right, but hopefully this will be her starting to get better. I feel better about here being here too, because I know what she normally likes to eat, and I don't think anyone at the vets would go outside in the pitch dark, in torrential rain and a gale force wind to try to find the little dandelions I'm sure I saw in the garden somewhere .

Not sure how things are this morning. Honey had eaten all the food left out for her overnight, even the pellets. There were a few poops in her potty and a wee. She has eaten the greens I gave her this morning, but hasn't yet touched her pellets and is still a bit withdrawn. I can't decide if she is the same as last night, or if she isn't quite as good :?. How much is her not doing well, and how much is me panicking?

Thank you everyone for all the support. Honey has been doing quite well today. She has been eating everything put out to her, and has been passing some poops and little wee's. She is showing an interest in things again. While she isn't 100%, she is doing good for now.

Pleased Honey is doing better. My specialists never gives Doughnut back to me until she is 100% and I would much rather that as I think she is in safer hands than me and also I have to go to work so can't be there for her. It's so stressful isn't it. I don't understand why vets release them.

I think it's dependent on the individual situation, stress can make a bunny poorlier and being away from its home and companion, being dealt with by strangers, and often putting up with the presence of other animals can be really upsetting for them.

Honey is usually kept in, but it was a different vet yesterday. I was really worried treating her at home because she had a blockage once before and I was terrified it would develop into another blockage.

In the end it worked out better because I went out to pick her some things that she likes.

I suppose I need to get my confidence back in treating stasis buns.
