You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Hi I have 2 Netherlands dwarf rabbits approximately 20 weeks old. One of them has got a few scabs under the nose like eczema kind of. She is fine in herself and is eating drinking and playing normally. Any ideas ?

have they been vaccinated??

Do you have any pics???

Ps.. Welcome

Do the scabs resemble small horn like structures? if so, could be vent disease (rabbit syphilis).

A photo would definately help :)

As already asked are they vaccinated?

Can you check the genitals to see if they are swollen or inflamed? Also the eyes, are they clear with no discharge?

Hi Helen

No her eyes and everything else is fine. She is happy and eating and drinking normally. X she hasn't been vaccinated x

I ve put the pic on as profile pic as I couldn't do it any other way :) It look s a bit yellow because I just put Vaseline on as a few people told me to try it x

I would advise taking both rabbits to the vets as soon as possible - to be checked and to be vaccinated. Vaccinating rabbits against Myxi and VHD is extremely important as they are both life threatening.

The pic is too small to be able to see the lesions. I would get her to the Vet tomorrow to obtain a definitive diagnosis and any treatment needed. As others have said vaccinating is essential, but this may not be able to be done until the exact cause of the lesions has been identified as only healthy Rabbits can be vaccinated

If the lesions are due to Rabbit Syphillis, also known as 'Treponematosis' or 'Vent Disease' then both of your Rabbits will need treatment even if the other one has no symptoms.
