Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Is it normal for Bunnies to have wet noses?

it's not overly wet but have noticed when i give her kisses that its wet and wondered if it's normal?

Eyes and ear are completely fine though .

thoughts please?

Generally a healthy Rabbit's nose should be clean and dry. Occasionally there may be a slight dampness- eg if the Rabbit is stressed and thus his/her respiratory rate increases. But ongoing 'wetness' is not normal and merits a check up from a Vet.

Rabbits who drink water from a bowl can get a bit of staining around their nostrils eventually. This is especially noticeable if the fur around the nose is white.

Yes she does drink from a bowl and her nose is white but I will get it checked out just incase!
thank you :)

Mine got checked after leah has wet nose or eyes. She is healthy, its just that she is sensitive to temp changes just as humans nose are sniffley when we go from the cold outside to indoor heating temp. Just something to keep in mind.

Oh Okay thanks, She is kept indoors but I guess with central heating the temperature will change, her nose i totally dry today so will keep an eye out.

Its really cold here in Scotland just now so she maybe just has a wee sniffle

thanks for info :)

My little boy has a damp nose now and then, i think its because of weather changes too. Warm then icy at night, and if he comes indoors its dry heat... X
