Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Couple of small lumps on 3LO?

3LO

Young Bun
I noticed a small lump behind 3LO's neck not so long ago, but didn't think too much of it as it just felt like a spot.

Well I have just came across another one on his back. I have just tried to pull his fur back as much as I can, and it looks like a small dry rough patch of a lump?

I have attached a photo if anyone has any ideas what this could be?

You can't actually see the lump itself, but its like a small raised pointy spot.

Has he been vaccinated recently? That can sometimes cause lumps or spots that last a few weeks.

looks like mites to me - they can make the skin raised and rough.

You can but ivermectin over the counter (send away on Amazon etc) BUT rabbits with a bad attack of mites often means they have an underlying health issue - whether it be that they are 'run down' with another illness, or are having mobility/cleaning issues which means they cant clean the fur properly -

so my advice would be to pop her to the vets for a check and mention that is why you are doing it.

Rabbits naturally have small background populations of skin mites (yes really . . even healthy ones) but to cause this irrtation then it has got out of hand.

I think what I am seeing is the result of fur mites. If some of the fur pulls out in tufts and there's small specks of white, this may be the case.

The best course of action is to see a vet for very simple treatment, if this is the case. People do treat their rabbits themselves, but the dosage and therefore the efficacy of the treatment is so much better when a vet administers just the right amount for the weight of your bunny
