My Bake-Off Entry: Expanded Post

Wise Old Thumper
Right everyone, here's the full story!

I made my treats with hay ends, three(!) small bananas and a handful of rose petals. We start with the mixing of banana and hay-ends. All by hand of course.

The smell reminds me of grass: slightly green bananas and hay!

Then we add rose petals: these are 'finished' roses, so the petals aren't on the floor but are loose (there might also be some lavender flowers in here, as the roses grow in the lavender!).

Mix it all up, then press it into a tray lined with paper and wait for the other half to finish using the grill so you can use the smaller top oven...

Once the other half's turned it on to 100°C, shove it in for a few hours. I went shopping because I know my oven's not about to explode but I don't recommend leaving it if you've never done it before! Comes out slightly browner than it went in:

Wait until cool (not long as it wasn't hot anyway) and break into pieces. Because my nanas were a bit under-ripe for mashing, it broke quite easily into chunks as it had all conglomerated into bits. Some might require a pair of scissors to actually cut into something not massive (also means you can see the texture and insides):

Add to an old yoghurt bucket (or container of your choice!) and then troop out to try it out on the rabbit.

Rabbit will be excited by new things but probably get bored of it quickly!

Lopsy actually decided he prefers them after a few days of maturing: he'll now look for them in preference to his pellets! The smell now reminds me of horse feed...!
