  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vibes for Baby Piper Please

Captain Helen

Wise Old Thumper
Baby Piper was dumped in a park and found with the body of her sibling. We think the dog/fox had a go at Piper too, and has grabbed her front leg and yanked it. The vet doesn't think it's broken, but it's causing her to tilt. She's stopped eating and pooping and is critically ill. She has a scratch across one eye and a blood blister in the other.

Or she could have been dumped this way, or it could be EC or infection so she's on treatment for everything. Could be the pain or the shock of what she's gone through that's made her so poorly. She's been admitted so she can have IV fluids and the best care. They'll phone at 5pm unless anything happens.

She's only about 3-4 months old, and very underweight. It's so unfair :cry::cry:

.. Bless... Vibes for a full recovery, come on little bun... Get well soon..

How people can do something like that, makes me sooooo angry...:censored:

Such a tragic start to a little life

Lots of love and vibes for little Piper, I so hope she can pull through so she can learn what real love is xxx

The vet just phoned and she's made a slight improvement :D She's been hopping around the cage. They're moving her to the larger branch where they'll continue the IV fluids and care overnight, and maybe do an xray (but they don't want to risk sedation/GA at the moment).

I probably won't get another update until the morning unless something happens. Please keep up the vibes for little Piper, she deserves a long and happy life in a great home.
