I'd've said couchgrass but my grass knowledge is VERY limited! Lopsy likes it, whatever it is, and prefers it to the 'hardwearing lawn' stuff (maybe ryegrass?).

It might be Cocks Foot grass

The grass I forage definately looks like Cocksfoot (what an unfortunate name!).

Maybe because the seed heads, when on the plant and stood up/hung over, look like a chicken's foot in the held-up position?
