Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Do you mean his eye is cloudy or its got milky discharge in it? I'm assuming you mean cloudy here. But a cataract could have discharge also. Is there any swelling around the eye?
I think its probably a vet job, they will most likely do tests to discover what stage its at (i.e lens partially covered, entirely covered) etc. They might also want to do blood tests in case of any infection?

Awwh bless I didn't realize he was 8! It's probably just an age thing then. He's obviously an old boy. I mean it can be linked with other things but I would think if he's never had problems before its probably just linked with age, obviously I can see why you wouldn't want to put him throught the stress of the vets at his age. x
Probably a cataract, I had a bun who had one when he was around 9 years. Didn't seem to affect him too much, just made sure I approached him from the side of his good eye!
If taking to the vets is too stressful, just phone and ask for some advice.

Do they still look OK? Do you think it was perhaps a bit of conjunctivitis in the eye causing the cloudiness?
